Haunted Scarehouse 2015

Hayden Family
Wharton, NJ--Haunted Scarehouse 2015 in Wharton, NJ is a consistently excellent Haunted Attraction.  As 2014’s “Best Indoor Haunt” winner, the Haunt Hunters  expected great things, and boy did they deliver!  It all starts outside, where you buy tickets from the Haunted Scarehouse bus!  While you wait on line, you have the option of purchasing a variety of haunt-inspired treats, handmade by Marge Vasquez of Lekker Sweets.  And, working the line is famous Horror Writer/Director David Boyle.  Boyle makes sure to fill everybody in on the disturbing history of the property and pump them up for what they are about to experience.
One of the several unique things about this Haunt is that it follows a storyline.  Specifically, the gruesome storyline of the Hayden family and their history on the property.  Once inside, you enter a time machine.  This is not an easy thing to pull off, but Owner Steve Bailey actually managed to do so without it coming off as cheesy.  Bailey takes his inspiration from Walt Disney himself, whose high-production value at his theme parks are esteemed the world over.
The Haunted Scarehouse continues with a staggering array of amazing sets, spread out across two floors.  Another very difficult thing to pull off is making it feel as if you are actually outside.  Again, Bailey succeeds.  Each new twist and turn is designed to disorient you and attack all of your senses.  In fact, you quickly realize that your senses can no longer be trusted, as even stationary props seem as if they are moving and you start to get a very tangible feeling that you very well might get hurt.  All of this, coupled with the extraordinary cast of actors makes for an absolutely unforgettable experience.
David Boyle put it best when he said, “Not everyone realizes that they are about to see a show. These are very talented actors. This is performance art.”  The one thing that always pushes this Haunt to the top is Bailey’s attention to detail.  He works on his Haunt all year long, and leaves no stone unturned.  His passion is evident in everything he does, from his hacked animatronics to the industry’s longest and best “Claustrophobia.”  Boyle adds, “Nobody else is doing what Steve Bailey is doing.” With Bailey’s competitors getting better and better every year, Bailey’s game-changing innovations keep him a step ahead.

Corrado's Hayride of Horror

Haunted Hayride
Hackettstown, NJ- Corrado's Hayride of Horrors. Joe Corrado Senior raced Stock Car Number 1 in upstate New York, now he is head of the pit crew of 7 tractors that has made over 12,000 laps through the Hayride of Horrors, a Haunted Hayride that is celebrating 20 years as a Haunted Attraction. "I never really thought about how many laps around the Haunted Hayride we have done" says Corrado Sr. 20 years is a major milestone in the Haunted Attraction business. The competition in the genre of Haunted Attractions is getting more competitive with each passing Halloween season. Some of these attractions fly away like a spirit of the night because they try to capture Halloween with the best mask or best animated gadgets. However, when Corrado’s Haunted Hayride of Horrors was built, it was built to last. “My wife Marie Corrado, who recently passed away, loved Halloween and shared that spirit with with our 7 children. “ says Corrado “ It  now includes grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.“ Love and heart also helped build their marriage that lasted  53 years. For a time of year when you are supposed to be afraid, the Hayride of Horrors provides some good Haunts, with a little Corrado love. For instance, at the midpoint of the Haunted Hayride, you get a break in the action with some fresh apple cider and homemade cider donuts.“I traveled from Nutley, says Haunted Hayride fan Tommy Murphy “We had a great time and I will be coming again next year.” For many, Corrado’s is a yearly tradition. “This has been a Halloween tradition of ours for over 10 years now” says Lisa Lontaria of Wayne, “I love that they add some new things every year and they are always so nice after they scare you.” Your Entertainment dollar goes far for the $15 it costs to ride. You are treated to a 45 minute hayride with a Narrator who interacts with all of the customers and provides great lead up to each scene. You can sit on the either side of the tractors that run every 15 minutes. If you are lucky enough, you may get the special Wendell’s Ride of Doom tractor, which can easily be pointed out with its elaborate decor and fire sticks. You journey through many different sets that use a variety of horror movie themes with some very creative homemade concepts and designs added. The actors do a good job of playing their parts and will tone it down the scare with some humor if you have a little one on board. Though, no matter what age, the sound of a chainsaw will get your heart racing. If you want more haunts, add the Haunted House for another $15. A different tractor that takes you to another area of the Farm that travels through the Corn Field. Corrado’s has managed to capture the true spirit of Halloween from the legacy of Marie Corrado and some Corrado family love. You too can catch the spirit by taking your family and building your own Halloween tradition until November 1st.

Brighton Asylum NJ Haunted Attraction

Brighton Asylum

Passaic, New Jersey-Brighton Asylum NJ Haunted Attraction Runs Wild in Passaic, NJ is back and better than ever for 2014 with all new sinister characters and super-creepy sets!  It is the brain-child of Rich Gonci and crew, the haunted industry vets that brought us the legendary Twisted Maniac Trail in Montvale, NJ.
The eerie tone is set early on with their multi-tiered marketing efforts and engaging website.  The website weaves a well-written and entirely believable tale of an abandoned asylum that their haunted attraction takes place in.  Even though it’s actually just an old, run-down warehouse, a quick Google-search will reveal that they’ve captured the collective imaginations of enough visitors to make “Brighton Asylum History” one of the top related search terms.
The wait times are made much more tolerable by the inclusion of drinks and snacks, paintball, horror movies projected on to the wall and, of course, roaming monsters.
Once indoors, you’re treated to 13,000 square feet of bone-chilling terror.  There is a varied mix of standard, clichéd startles and more cerebral, inventive scares.  Likewise, some of the sets are very well thought out and truly terrifying, while others are frankly underwhelming.  Their use of lighting effects is masterful, while some of their outdoor-themed sets only serve to remind you that you’re still just in a warehouse.  It takes approximately thirty minutes to get through the attraction itself.  The “R.I.P.” upgrade is totally worth it during peak hours.  All things considered, it is a solid attraction and time well spent for casual attendees and haunted-enthusiasts alike!
Brighton Asylum was pre season ranked number 5 Haunted Attraction in New Jersey by Bigtime Magazines Annual Haunted Attractions Issue. They are competing against Haunts such as Scareland Stadium, Bane, and the Haunted ScareHouse in Wharton, New Jersey.
Tapp the App to bring the Haunted Attractions App to your Smart phone that features the Haunt Hunters led by Mr Haunt himself, Triple M Marty Coleman.  The top Haunts will be previewed and the National, Regional and Local Ranking of the Best Haunts will be updated each week.  Entertainment Network App brings you all of the Haunt Hunters Action.

NJ Top 10 Haunted Attractions

NJ Haunted
Rockaway, New Jersey--NJ Top 10 Haunted Attractions for 2014 will be presented in the Annual Bigtime Magazine Haunted Attractions Preview. The Issue  presents all of the Haunted Attractions that are offered throughout the state of New Jersey. It is a comprehensive guide and field map to finding the best haunted attractions that will help with scare night, fright night, date night or whatever entertainment outing your are looking for. The Haunts are broken up into 2 divisions, the Horror and Farm divisions. With the big growth in the genre, there is a big difference between the two divisions. Though it is a positive that so many people are bringing some creative ideas and attractions to the field, you have to recognize the strong foundation that has already been set in the business by som true horror enthusiasts. The Horror division represents that foundation and those Haunts are represented by those who have been in the arena for years. These Haunts are like a Hollywood production, they employ real actors with a lot of experience in the field. This alone makes a clear line that divides the two divisions. Great horror actors make the Haunt, its not about animatronics, but about the Horror of the Haunt. The Farm division is just that, these are your Farms and Nurseries that operate as Haunted Attractions during the Halloween season. They typically offer a Haunted Hayride with a Haunted House with some fresh cider and donuts. They rely on the the teenage kids of the neighborhood to dress up and scare. The Haunted Attractions App will be presenting articles as part of their Haunt Season. Who will be ranked pre season number 1 in New Jersey? Bane? Haunted Scarehouse? Brighton Asylum? Countdown to Haunt Kickoff has begun.
